Kontakt partnered with Sprint to drive foot traffic into retail locations nationwide using a mobile-powered experience centered around discovery and in-store engagement. The goal: attract potential customers near stores, create a moment of intrigue, and turn street-level encounters into measurable in-store visits and brand interactions.

Street teams deployed across high-traffic areas invited passersby near Sprint store locations to scan a QR code displayed on signage or printed signs. Upon scanning, users accessed a mobile experience revealing a hidden image—partially obscured until they visited a nearby Sprint location. Once in-store, reps would verify the image using their own device, triggering a reveal moment where consumers found out what prize, offer, or reward they unlocked. This campaign was so effective in generating store traffic and interaction that Sprint extended it for three consecutive seasons.

UX:
We designed the mobile journey to build curiosity and momentum: scan, tease, and reveal. The flow encouraged real-world movement by connecting mobile activity with in-store action. A clean interface guided users from scan to store visit with minimal friction, while maintaining surprise and anticipation.

UI:
The experience featured bold, Sprint-branded visuals with high contrast for mobile readability and clear prompts for next steps. The hidden image mechanic added gamified suspense, and the QR scan entry point minimized barriers to entry across iOS and Android devices.

Strategy:
By aligning rewards with real-world foot traffic and store interactions, the campaign converted attention into measurable retail outcomes.

Campaign Dashboard:
A real-time dashboard tracked QR scans, mobile sessions, store visits, image reveals, and prize redemptions across all participating locations. The reporting provided clear attribution metrics and season-over-season growth trends that validated ROI and informed future rollout planning.

 

Bilingual Marketing Program

Sprint also successfully launched a bilingual mobile marketing program that leveraged the power of sports and street-level engagement to reach both English- and Spanish-speaking audiences. By aligning with culturally relevant sports events and using on-the-ground activation teams, Sprint invited consumers to scan a QR code to unlock a hidden image game—only accessible in-store.

 

 

   

 

The dual-language experience ensured broad appeal and seamless participation across diverse demographics. This tailored approach drove significant foot traffic, reinforced Sprint’s position in both markets, and created a unified campaign that delivered results across three consecutive seasons.
